Nebraska Sex Discrimination Verdict Exceeds $3.8 Million

by Amy Beck

After a five-day trial, a Douglas County jury awarded $3.85 million earlier this month to Kristine Shaner, a former HDR vice president that had been with the company 18 years.  The 12-member jury deliberated three hours before unanimously agreeing that the company discriminated against Kristine based on her gender. The jury awarded her $2.57 million in lost wages and $1.28 million for mental and emotional distress.

Attorneys Kelly Brandon, David Albrecht, and Kathryn Leidahl represented Kristine.  We are so happy for Kristine and proud of her trial team.
